It’s International Women’s Day!

Did you know that the first IWD in the US was in 1909? After spending some time at the end of February, International Women’s Day celebrations took up residence on March 8 in 1917. Over 100 years later, IWD is a celebration of the economic, social, and cultural strides that’s women made, and continue to make!

In honor of International Women’s Day, we bring you 9 Female-Directed films led by BFF Alumni to celebrate their talent and achievements in filmmaking! These films feature stories of women working together, battling mental illness, coming out, soul-searching and more.

From our co-founder and leader, Geena Davis, to our President of Programming, Wendy Guerrero, and all of the women behind-the-scenes who help manage BFF -thank you for keeping the wheels of progress moving forward.
